A purpose designed, embedded system, the TCU monitors and controls every aspect of the wind turbine's performance and operation with ease...and processing power left over. The TCU is designed for extended temperature ranges, long reliable operation, and ease of service. The patented system also uses far fewer parts than conventional wind turbine control systems through its simple yet sophisticated design.

Through the use of Clipper's TCU system, Liberty's unique variable speed system maintains a constant unity power factor down to 10% of rated power, reducing the need for VAR correction at the substation. It also has extended line voltage ride-through capability that exceeds industry standards, enabling Liberty to ride-through faults and line outages for up to three seconds.
